My Story

The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail. As a cinematographer, editor and producer, this statement constantly reverberates in my mind. For me, the little things are key.

My name is Matt Unger, and I am a digital content producer. I am a visual storyteller, and the web is my medium.

I currently work for Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN as a post production supervisor. Each day I edit and review long form instructional videos on the various stages of professional music production. On shoot days, I operate our RED cameras and assist with lighting and set design.

It all started during my sophomore year at St. Francis High School in Buffalo, NY when I signed up to join the school’s inaugural television station. From there that I fell in love with the process of capturing and editing videos.

My passion ultimately led me to pursue a degree in journalism and digital media at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, where I took advantage of every opportunity to sharpen my video skillset. It’s also where I began my career, starting with a video production position within the Marquette Athletic Department.

Upon graduation, I accepted a job with the Los Angeles Rams as a videographer/editor trainee. With the Rams, I created content for therams.com, social media and in-stadium entertainment using high-end gear such as the SONY FS7, ARRI Amira/Alexa Mini and Panasonic GH4.

In 2019, I moved to Nashville to join the Tennessee Titans as a digital media content producer where I created video content across a variety of platforms and aspect ratios.

My experience has molded me into an expert in Premiere Pro, and I continue to hone my knowledge and skill set within After Effects and Photoshop. I also have experience working in Final Cut Pro and AVID. From run-n-gun content capture to sit down interviews, I can fulfill your creative vision from pre-production to picture lock.
